In the last few weeks Fort Worth has played host to Main Street Arts Fest, PrairieFest, Fred’s Fest, and Mayfest.
So, if you’ve had your fill of the -fests, you should try something different this weekend: The Fairmount Home Tour. (Of course, if you’re not tired of -fests, then you should make your way over to the Fairmount Home Fest instead. It’s way cooler.)

(Editor’s Note: This is the first in a new line of posts centered around living in (and learning to live in) an urban area. As Fort Worth becomes increasingly urban and folks are moving back to the city center from the suburbs and exurbs, being/becoming a better urban dweller is increasingly important.)
Last night it wasn’t TOO cold out, so Jenna and I decided we’d be good liberals and ride our bikes to the precinct conventions instead of driving the 5 blocks to get there.
We weren’t sure where my helmet was, so we decided that since it wasn’t very far, we really didn’t need to wear them. Jenna’s headlight was dead, but we didn’t bother to check for more batteries. I misplaced my taillight and wasn’t sure where my clip-on headlight was, but it wasn’t that dark out, so we decided we’d be okay with just the reflectors on our bikes.
