No, not an invitation to come enjoy cow juice for the sunrise, instead it’s an exhibit of newly local artist Brittany Elidemir’s photography, which opens Friday October 17th at The Chat Room Pub. (Or should that be the “The Chat Room Pub”? Is it Smashing Pumpkins, or “the” Smashing Pumpkins? Ah, hipsterism…)
More photos (borderline NSFW) after the jump…

Yucatan Taco Stand
909 West Magnolia Avenue
Map
Note: This review features input from not one, but two West & Clear staffers. The first part of the review is from Pete Wann, and the second part is a vegetarian perspective from me, Kevin Buchanan, along with my photography of the place. Enjoy!
P. W. - There’s been a ton of discussion about the decor of this place. I think it looks like a cross between Gloria’s and Ronin. Not exactly modern — more Mayan Riviera minimalist.
The ordering process is similar to Fuzzy’s or Pei Wei (Or so I’m told — I can’t remember the last time I was in Pei Wei.), where you order your food and get a number, then the yummies are brought out to you.

I have it on good authority that Yucatan Taco Stand (the new restaurant going into the old BJ Keefers location) will be opening within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
My source has indicated that the menu will be a variety of Latin American dishes and the atmosphere and service will be “Pei-Wei style.” I guess that means it’ll be like Fuzzy’s, only with a better menu and higher-end feel.
The restaurant will feature “over a hundred different tequilas” and a nice selection of local and craft beers.

So, we’ve gotten a few emails asking about what might be going in to the old BJ Keefer’s location on Magnolia.
We’ve heard a couple of grumblings about a new concept from the folks that brought you Fuzzy’s Tacos, but nothing official.
What have y’all heard? Post it in the comments.

That’s right - it’s time for another Arts Goggle! For the uninitiated, Arts Goggle is a festival of art, live music, and food & drink that happens a couple of times a year in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. The happenings are centered around Magnolia Avenue, with goings-on also occuring on 8th Avenue and other streets around the district. It’s a lively pedestrian-oriented event that always guarantees a great time and plenty of awesome art, photography, sculpture, and music.
Yours truly will once again be exhibiting my urban Fort Worth photography. I’ll have photos for sale, if you’re so inclined, or just to look at. It’ll be fun, as always. I’m very excited, because I’m going to be in a higher profile location than in previous Arts Goggles. Here’s a hint…

Yep, that’s right - I’ll be exhibiting photos at Panther City Bicycles, right on Magnolia! Heck yeah! So, make sure to attend Arts Goggle this Friday, March 28. The event runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and there will be art, sculpture, and music aplenty. A great time for all ages. Make sure to stop by Panther City Bicycles and visit yours truly/buy some photography/talk about urban development. I always love chatting with fans of West and Clear and Fort Worthology.

Here’s another rumor that came over the transom not long ago (someone’s cleaning out his inbox!):
Apparently the proprietors of the former MacHenry’s pub will be opening a new bar called “The Fairmount” east of the old location on Magnolia. (Brad Hensarling of “The Chat Room” fame will be opening his new bar, “The Usual” in the old MacHenry’s location.)
