Local Man on Jeopardy!, Baby…Ooooh-ooh-oooooh

by Kevin Buchanan

(Yeah, that’s a Greg Kihn *and* Weird Al reference. A two-for-one special!)

Cultural District resident and West and Clear/Fort Worthology reader Mengmeng Zhang went one better than those of us who constantly shout answers ahead of Jeopardy contestants - he’s actually gone and done the thing. Mengmeng went before The Almighty Trebek to represent our great city in an episode of the long-running quiz show.

No run-ins with a foul-mouthed Sean Connery, alas, but still a nifty cool happening. How’d he do? Well, if I told you, the spirit of Alex Trebek’s mustache would visit me in the night and take my soul, so you’ll just have to find out for yourself when Mengmeng’s appearance airs on October 3rd.

Connery: “I’ll take the rapist for $400, Trebek … ”

Trebek: “That would be ‘therapist’ … “
