Kevin’s Photos: Eighth

by Kevin Buchanan

There aren’t an awful lot of these old inlaid street names in the city (ditto for the old blue & white tile street names on the curbs). This lovely example is at 8th & Houston downtown, next to the W. T. Waggoner Building.

  2. Juniper,

All I can guess is that you’re viewing the site someplace that admits West & Clear but blocks Flickr. I use Flickr to host all my photos, so if your Internet access blocks Flickr you won’t see anything.

  4. Speaking of the old blue/white tile street markings, there is a street in West Meadowbrook with the tile reading one name and the pole sign a different name. Let me know next time in your in the ‘hood and I’ll show you.

Another nearly gone marking are the telephone poles with red/white markings where old-fashion emergency fire boxes were once mounted. I saw one last week just a couple of blocks north of W. Seventh not far from the now Nikon store.

    ‘nother nice pic, Kevin/
