Texas Monthly Calls Out Kim Brimer
by Steve-OTexas Monthly editor Evan Smith calls out Kim Brimer over his never-ending legal challenge to Wendy Davis‘ candidacy:
“There’s a point at which one’s continued attempt to erect procedural roadblocks to a contested election is revealing of, you know, one’s total lack of stones. … if you can’t beat her at the polls and you instead beat her in advance in the courts, we’re gonna know what happened, and your constituents are gonna know it too. Stones, Kim. Stones. Show us you have them. Drop this legal nonsense and get on with the election.”

Steve-O, you have already said your mind is made up on this race, you ran a story on Brimers shirt and ate your words, now run a headline that Texas Monthly Calls…why not be truthful and say a blog written on Texas Monthlys site says…Blogs are alot different that true well researched news stories…West and Clear proves that.

Brimer is bringing this heat upon himself by looking so pathetic and childish. Does he really give two shakes of a sh*t about when Wendy resigned? No, not really. He just doesn’t want to give up his money and actually get off his ass and campaign.
Personally, I don’t really give a crap what shirt Brimer wore or if he ran around topless or who the hell knows what. My problem with Brimer is that he is the epitome of a do-nothing representative that can only be bothered to come down off his throne of incumbency to speak with us peons during election time. He has personally done nothing significant for District 10 and is known by most voters solely by his dim-witted smear campaigns against Davis.
I did not spend years in the military sacrificing my individual freedoms to come back to a dirty politician like Brimer that wants to make a mockery of democracy just because he is too big of a coward and/or cheapskate to run a race. What difference would it have made if Davis had resigned a few weeks prior? Honestly, what true difference would that have made at all? Would she somehow become a better person??
Brimer needs to drop the bullsh*t frat-boy antics and get on with what’s important - like the actual issues that face District 10 residents every day. Last I checked, this was still a democracy, Mr. Brimer - not some third-world dictatorship where you create the rules.

Ears — Since you clearly don’t like us or this site, why do you keep coming back?
And since your major beef with us is factual inaccuracies, you need to check YOUR facts.
I wrote the story about Brimer’s shirt, and I took the heat for it. Not Steve. Also, Steve clearly says in the FIRST SENTENCE of this post — “Texas Monthly editor Evan Smith calls out Kim Brimer over his never-ending legal challenge to Wendy Davis‘ candidacy:” Why does it matter WHERE the words were written more than it matters that they WERE?
You’re absolutely right; blogs ARE different than well researched news stories. Usually a blog entry gives you more context than a news story, which is subject to the almighty column inch. We also editorialize. Deal with it.

Hey, when the editor of Texas Monthly says on the Texas Monthly website that Kim Brimer lacks the testicular fortitude to face Wendy Davis, that constitutes Texas Monthly calling out Kim Brimer. Just because you don’t agree with the statement doesn’t change that fact.

I get upset at times, but I love this site. The reviews are outstanding, the viewpoints varied and interesting. Keep up the good work guys. I’m a fan. Even an independent Republican feels welcome here.

Thanks Steve-O, I’m old enough to remember statements that started, some of my best friends are black. They were usually made by someone whose mind was already made up.
