While we’re talking food, Fort Worth Hole in the Wall tried Lili’s for dinner, and his meal “tasted like what macadamia nut and coconut crusted angels taste like.” With reviews like that, is it any wonder Lili’s Bistro is so busy?

I wasn’t that impressed either. Too much anger and hostility and no real direction. It just sought to provoke emotion without offering any real solution.

Yeah, why don’t we have a good bakery around here? What’s a guy gotta do to get a good Baguette in this town? One not from Central Market. I’d love to make some nice bruschetta with a rich crusty loaf of bread, good Olive Oil, fresh tomatoes with a Caprese salad on the side… man that sounds good. I know what I’m having for dinner tomorrow!
I’d love to see a good bakery on Magnolia. Something in the order of either Empire Bakery or the Black Forest bakery (both in Dallas sadly).

it’s incrdedibly tempting to grab a camera this very second and send these guys more signage from cowtown. i would submit just on hwy 80 - the eldorado (out past margie’s), golden gate, drummer’s inn and the crest hotels. throw in the scat jazz lounge downtown too!
there used to be an artist who made cardboard? montages of all the famous signage around fw. they were sold through earthbones. he / she only made about ten though. i know kites cleaners (the one across from kinckaids) has one hanging above the counter.
re: a good bakery
there used to be an empire bakery on seventh right where tommy’s is currently located. i REALLY miss that place.

I liked the technique used by Kara Walker but not so much the content. It seems to me that art is created for various reasons…One reason is to make a statement or make people talk… this is definately “making a statement” art.
