MMMmmm… This Crow Is Delicious!

Man, those Odyssey One Source polo shirts are really comfortable! I can totally see why Kim Brimer would want to wear one in a parade.

Thanks to Alan Calhoun at Odyssey One Source for the totally unsolicited, really nice polo shirt.

Clearly I’m no good at spin, so I apologize to both candidates for the clumsy attempt at it. I still maintain that it was probably a bad idea to wear a shirt with a corporate logo to an “official” campaign function. However, I can also see how the corporate logo could have been overlooked, since the shirts are designed for exactly the kind of hot weather we had lo those many Saturdays ago.

End result: I apologize. Thanks to everyone who called me on my BS.

    A clock over the mantel…really?

  2. The real winner in all of this….Odyssey One Source :)

I figured you would have a bigger tv to watch the Tour de France.

    Pete,

Good to you for owning up to the whole situation. It was getting a bit ugly towards the end, I’m glad to see it didn’t stay that way.

BTW, nothing wrong with a clock over the mantel. That’s what mantels are for. Except for Christmas of course. Then they’re for clocks, and stockings. Unless you don’t celebrate Christmas… then they’re mainly still good for clocks. YYMV

Good stuff, Pete … AND, you got some free threads, to boot.

Impassioned debate is what makes blogs valuable and, frankly, more interesting. I’ll throw my apologies in, as well, for throwing some gas on the virtual fire last week.

Now, on to more important matters, such as which new bars and restaurants we can lure onto Magnolia to make our little slice of Southside Heaven even better … Independent coffee shop with Wi-Fi and a dog-friendly patio anyone?

  6. @Adam –

I’m not the hard-core cyclist. That’s Bernie. And I don’t think he even owns a TV. (I’ve never seen one in his house.) My TV is for cheesy comedies, Planet Green, and HD nature shows for me, and cop and doctor shows, Top Gear, and “I’m a (insert freakish characteristic/fetish) (man/woman/transsexual/teenager)” documentaries on BBC America for the missus.

My TV may not be THAT big (although 50″ is pretty big in my book), but at least it’s paid for! :D

  7. @Chachi - I’m glad I could provide some entertainment. It’s actually a weird occurrence that the mantel is even still there. I HATE it.

I also wanted a MUCH BIGGER clock for that space. Ikea has one that’s like 3 feet in diameter. I compromised and got the one you see. I like the mid-50’s Russian government office look of it.

  8. For the record, we do own 1 TV. It is very small.

Nothing wrong with not owning a TV. Right Bernie?

Although I do miss getting to watch the tour this year. Still, I get to see highlights online.

    Pete,

Don’t sell yourself short on your BS. It is not the clothes one wears or whether one wears an American Flag lapel pin, quality of the candidate is what matters most. BTW, the shirt looks very nice on you.

I didn’t think you were the hard-core cyclist, I just figured Bernie’s cycling taste rubbed off on you.

I can see the beauty of watching Love Me, Love My Doll in HD. I salute her!!! :)

  12. Unfortunately BBCA is not available in HD on DirecTV. :(

I watched about a half hour of the Tour the other day in the gym while I was on a treadmill. It just made me want to be outside running instead of on a treadmill. But it’s SO DAMN hot outside…

(I sort of pretended that I was running along with the riders; it was fun!)

  13. And for the record, my favorite documentary in that series is My Big Breasts and Me, although it was heavily edited for our “sensitive (prudish) American tastes.”

I’d look that up, but i’m pretty sure it’s going to set off some sort of internet alarm here at the office!!!
