Join CLASP Tuesday At The City Council Meeting
by Pete WannCLASP (Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets) members from across Fort Worth will be attending the City Council meeting this Tuesday night to show their support for the construction of an adoption center at the Fort Worth animal shelter.
The original plans for the city Animal Shelter included an adoption center, but the adoption center was dropped due to cost overruns. Since then, the adoption center has never been re-addressed or even reconsidered.
As you may know, I adopted a dog from the animal shelter. He’s turned out to be a wonderful companion, and I can’t imagine my life without him. Shelter dogs and cats don’t choose to be there. They wind up there because of careless pet owners who either lose track of them or don’t have their pets spayed or neutered and allow them to be born in the first place. Every animal that winds up in the shelter deserves the best opportunity to find a new family that will take good care of them, and an adoption center is be the best way to meet that goal.
Please, come out to City Council chambers on Tuesday night at 7PM and show your support for this worthy cause.

Last night I was driving back from Arlington on Loop 820 between I20 & I30 (southwest Ft. Worth), I must have seen 5-8 dead dogs along the road. So bothering that we have so many individuals and families in our City who have no clue or concern on how dogs operate or what their needs are, how to treat them, etc. I hear so many complaints about the dog road kill from people who drive from Mansfield to Ft. Worth on 287. The lack of spay & neutering requirements reflects much about America’s and Ft. Worth’s “values” as a society. The Adoption Center for Ft. Worth’s Animal Shelter is long overdue or should we say stricter laws regarding humane treatment of dogs and enforcement of, is long overdue. I say both! Side question: how can we do the less government thing when we have such problems as this?

I’ve found amoeba’s to be most excellent pets. Just put them in a drop of water in the window sill and leave them alone. If you accidentally cut one if half, you’ve got two :-]
