Toadies Play Possum Kingdom. The Lake, Not The Song. But Probably That, Too.
by Steve-OI know, I know. Welcome to last month. This post is like a lot late, but we can’t not say anything about the Toadies reunion tour. Yeah, Todd Lewis, Mark Reznicek and Clark Vogeler are putting the band back together. Wanna break out your Fort Worth Fire jersey and see ‘em at the Ridglea Theater on June 21? So do I, but that show sold out in about 10 seconds. So now your only chance to see them around here is at, appropriately, Possum Kingdom on Aug. 31 when they headline Dia de Los Toadies with Lions, Dove Hunter, The Backsliders and Tejas Brothers. Get yer tickets at Front Gate Tickets. Now, take a trip back to the 1990s and enjoy a video of the band above playing a touching song about a serial killer.
Question for y’all: were the Toadies the best rock band to ever come out of Fort Worth?

Great to see the Toads getting some recognition on West and Clear! To answer your question, no doubt in my mind they’re the best rock band FW has ever produced. Rubberneck and Hell Below/Stars Above are amazing albums that only get better with time, and that just doesn’t happen very often in rock these days.
The big news not mentioned in your post is the announcement of a new album coming out August 19! It’s been seven years, so must be time for some new Toadies, right? You should keep tabs on NoDeliverance.com and also check out Vaden’s recent interview at Spin.com
Can’t wait for August 31 at Possum Kingdom!
