The New Cafe Chadra!
by BernieThis is one of my favorite Fort Worth South eateries, so I’m glad (and relieved) that the new Chadra Mezza and Grill will finally open its doors New Year’s Eve.
Chadra owner Nehme Elbitar originally planned to open the new place in August, but various code issues (the building was formerly a dance studio, so lots of work had to be done to make it ready) delayed the opening. The new digs are at 1622 Park Place.
I was beginning to get worried that the restaurant wouldn’t be open in time for the New Year’s Eve celebration Nehme had been planning, but Chadra received its Certificate of Occupancy today… just in the nick of time!
There will be two BYOB dinner seatings on New Year’s Eve. The first seating is from 6-8 p.m., and patrons can enjoy Chadra’s legendary buffet, with some special additions, for $24.95.
The second seating (which I’ll be attending) will be from 9 p.m.-2 a.m, and will feature the aforementioned buffet, a belly dancing show at 9:45, and complimentary champagne from midnight until 2. Cost is $49.95.
Call Chadra at 817-927-7670 for reservations.

Chadra RULES!!!! Everyone who reads this must go! $11.95 buffet every friday night. It’s awesome! Great spread of Lebanese, Greek, and Italian cuisine. And currently it’s BYOB because their liquor license isn’t in yet. What a deal! It’s also that cool sort of atmosphere where the owner/head cook comes to your table to meet and greet. Wonderful place.

Cafe Chadra is a wonderful eatery bringing home the true feel of Mediterrean cuisine. There has not been a time that I have been there that the food is beyond exception. Thank you Nehme for giving Fort Worth such a great place to eat!

I lied…the new buffet price is $15.95. But still totally worth it, as the new place has more upscale items on the buffet….salmon, crab, shrimp, rack of lamb, etc. Yum!

Didn’t make it for New Year’s Eve. However, my wife and I did stop by Saturday night for a bite. Great food. Don’t let the term “upscale” in Juniper’s post keep you from going. While the food and atmosphere is nice, dinner was still reasonable. For the price of a meal at one of the popular bland chains we enjoyed a true Mediterranean feast. Half-way through the meal we were already planning a return trip.
