Want to Make a Statement for Clean Air?
by BernieI know, I know. My first post in this new blogging endeavor is all issue-y, and environmental and stuff, and therefore no fun. What can I say? I like breathing (especially air I can’t see).
That’s why for the past few years I’ve volunteered at the Clean Air Bike Rally, a free bike ride put on by the City of Fort Worth that’ll go down Saturday morning at 9.
This will be the sixth annual Clean Air ride (not the fifth, like it says if you follow the above link), and both the ride and turnout keep getting better every year. Haily Summerford and the rest of the staff in the Department of Environmental Management have done a great job creating an event that gives great visibility to cycling as an alternative means of transportation. Plus it’s free, and you could probably use a brisk morning bike ride to get the last of those Friday night beers out of your system.
And since it’s Halloween weekend you should probably come in costume.

Visit http://www.stepitup2007.org rally in Colleyville next Saturday, November 3rd. Should we start a group in Fort Worth? I’m in — it’ll save us creating more pollution to drive to Colleyville.

Hi Suzette-
Nice to see you at West and Clear. A FW group would be great… I don’t drive much, so Colleyville isn’t a likely place for me to visit. Seems like FW is full of forward-thinking folks who’d do great with such an organization.
